Embark on an exciting adventure tour of South Morocco, commencing at around 8:30 a.m. from Marrakech. Travel through the awe-inspiring Atlas Mountains, where the scenery is simply breathtaking. Your journey takes you to the Ouzoud waterfalls, where you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, who will help you explore the surrounding areas. Keep your eyes peeled, as you may catch a glimpse of the charismatic Barbary monkeys, which are often seen in this region. Following an exhilarating day, retire to a charming small hotel in the vicinity for a restful night’s sleep.
As the morning breaks, we embark on the next leg of our adventure, continuing over the Atlas Mountains to visit the enigmatic mountain nomads. Our excursion includes a traditional lunch, shared with the hospitable nomads. Following this, enjoy a brief hike to explore the stunning gorges of the surrounding areas, and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring scenery. Our journey then takes us through the world-renowned Todra Gorges, where we are greeted by magnificent rock formations and unparalleled vistas. Upon reaching Zagora, we visit the distinctive Jewish Berber Kasbah, where we discover the vibrant multicultural history of the tribes that once inhabited the area. What could be more magical than enjoying a mouth-watering dinner under the mesmerizing stars of the Sahara?
On the fourth day of our journey, we embark on a cultural and sensory adventure, beginning with a visit to the historical Tamegroute library. This sacred site houses original copies of the Koran dating back to the 12th century, and was once a place of pilgrimage for Muslims worldwide. Next, we explore the renowned ceramics cooperative, famous for its unique green ceramics that have gained popularity beyond the region. Our desert expedition then leads us to a picturesque picnic amidst the golden sand dunes of Erg Lihoudi, before delving even deeper into the heart of the desert.
